So the lion fell in love with the lamb

So, Chloe has been my little kitty for a week now. I've had a little difficulty with her peeing on my bathroom rug a few times, but other than that, she has settled in fine. She likes to follow me room to room and lay beside me. She likes to stretch her arms out in the air when I rub her belly. When I'm on the couch, she likes to lay in the curve of my body and lay her head on my leg. She really is a sweet cat. She's even started playing with her toys. And did I mention she loves treats?!

I am now hooked on the Twilight series. I finished the first book in 3 days. That's amazing for me. It usually takes me at least a month to read a book. I finished the book just in time for the movie. Mom and I went to go see it early Saturday morning. The movie was good. It was different than I expected, but I like how they put it together for the most part. But I just couldn't get over how crazy Jasper looked! I'm going to start reading the second book tonight.

Lately I've been thinking a lot about what kind of dog I want. I know I can't get one now, but I'd like to decide on the breed that I want. I really want a French Bulldog. They are just the cutest things!

But I decided that I want a little fluffy dog that I can take with me everywhere. So I started looking at the Maletese, but they get separation anxiety. I thought about a Westie, but they are high energy and not really lap dogs. I considered a Lhasa or Shi Tzu, but they can be snippy. I want a dog that will be social and won't be afraid of strangers. I also want a dog that won't be jealous of the other animals. I looked at the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They are so beautiful. But they can't be left alone for long periods of time.

And then I saw the Havanese. I had never heard of that breed, so I did some research. They are small dogs, under 20 pounds. They are social. They love to entertain. They are also easy to train. So easy that they are used in many circus acts. They have the look of a Lhasa, with the fur and all the different colors. Also, they have the softest fur. I read that they are great companions and don't get jealous. So, you might be looking at my future dog!

Pre-Loved

Thursday, a girl at work talked about finding her new dog on Craig's List. I had never even thought about looking for a pet on there, so I decided to look around. I found a posting for a cat that needed a new home. The couple had just had a baby, and the baby was allergic to cats. The cat, Chloe, was 7 years old, declawed, fixed, and loveable. I emailed the couple and set up a time to go see the cat.

The owner had told that she was a big cat, but I didn't think anything of it. Buttercup is a fat cat, and that just makes her more loveable. When we got to the house, the owner brought out the cat and I thought "oh my gosh!" It's the biggest cat I've ever seen in person. Chloe weighs 20lbs! For those of you who know Buttercup - she weighs 14 lbs. So just imagine how big this cat is. She can't even use a large litter box cause she is so big. But she is the most loveablt cat. She is social and loves to be pet. She also likes to rub her head on everything.

I brought her home Saturday, and she was pretty scared. She ended up sleeping under my bed that night. I didn't sleep well cause I was worried about her. I didn't want her to be too scared. This morning when I got up, I looked under the bed and she came right out. She starting to meow and rub on me. I spent some time with her before I left for work. I felt so bad leaving her.

When I got home from work she was just hanging out on my bed. She doesn't seem too scared now. Right now she is laying on the floor beside me. She is a sweetie.

Vampires

So I found this series of books that I want to read. All of the series are about vampires, but each series (3 books) is about a different character. The series I want to read is the Garnet Lacey one. How can I pass on a character with my name? The book that caught my eye is Romancing the Dead.
I am about to start reading the Twilight series, so this book will have to wait.

Etsy

So I was looking around on Etsy yesterday and found some really cool vinyl stickers. Here is what I found:
Here you can get all 8 of these stickers. The best one is at the bottom!

I'd like to get this one for my toilet. It would give it a little character.

I think these are so cute. I want some for my kitchen!

This would be pretty in the bedroom.

I also found a shop that sells tutus for animals. How cute are these?!

Is it Monday already?

Well, I had a pretty good weekend.
Friday I had to work both jobs. Bleh! I was on the patio at The Bronx, so that meant I had only 2 tables since it was so chilly. Me and Kristin got off early since we had no tables. We headed over to Gingerman and waited for her date. She met a guy earlier in the week and was meeting up with him. She invited me along - maybe for protection or maybe for company. Either way, she didn't need it. Her date got a thumbs up.
That place was pretty cool. We sat outside since it was loud inside. And unfortunately neither of us had a jacket. But they had a jukebox inside and someone kept playing my favorite music. I got to hear Modest Mouse, Cold War Kids, Interpol, CCR, and ZZ Top. Kristin was convinced that my future husband was inside playing the music! I want to go back. Good music, cool atmosphere, and cute boys.
Saturday I slept in, which felt so nice. After I got up and ate lunch, I went across the street to take pictures of trees. Yes, I am very aware that I'm a total dork. But I wanted to get some pictures of the trees while they were such pretty colors. I don't know. I just think trees are beautiful. I like to stand beneath the limbs and look up at the sky. I even like trees with no leaves. Strange - I know. Anyways, I ended up getting some good pictures.
When I got home from taking pictures, Kristin called. She came by and we ran some errands. We went to Best Buy and dreamed of getting a new digital camera. Then we went to Michael's to look for ideas for Elora's birthday party.
After she dropped me off I went to Super Target. And we all know what happens when Lacey goes to Super Target - She spends way too much money. But it's ok. I bought some food, Elora's birthday present, and some tights. It's all good.
Sunday I had to work. Ugh. I so did not want to go in. We weren't very busy, so I got to leave a little early. I headed over to Reverchon Park and took some more pictures of trees. I really like the pictures I got there. I was able to get close up and also get underneath the trees. Before I left work I also took some pictures of the sunflowers that were sitting on a table next to the front door. I was really happy with those.
After taking pictures, I met Mom up at Best Buy. They were having a special where you can get a new phone with an upgrade. So I got a LG Shine!!! I got the silver one and Mom got the red one. They are so pretty. But I have to get used to having a new phone. I still don't know half the things it can do. But I do know that it holds music, so I'm pretty excited about that.
After we got our new phones, we went over to Panera. We stayed there for a while talking and then we headed home. I was tired, but I really wanted to clean my apartment. So I cleaned a little, read, and then passed out.
I really didn't want to get up this morning. I hate Mondays!! Tonight was Heroes. I hadn't decided if I was going to watch it or not, but I was already planted on the couch when it came on, so I figured I'd watch it. It was the best episode I've seen in a while. I was getting tired of the show because you don't know who is good and who is bad anymore. Then some are good, but pretending to be bad and you thought this person was dead, but they're not. Whatever. But tonight's show was about who they were before and how they became who they are now. Not to ruin anything for anyone, but Peter's mom is really not so evil! Finally. But I do still miss the old Heroes. I guess I'm back on the band wagon for now.

True Love Way

I want in like a substitute
I've been working awful hard for you
But you don't say, you just hold your breath
So I can't touch what I haven't yet
She's a cold one and it hurts me so
It's a dark path and a heck of a toll
And she can kill me just like she did before

Oh we'd be so free
Happy alone
Sharing a smile
So far from home

Push in and I pull away
It's the hard part but the true love way
Girl you're wanted like a wanted man
With a smart mouth and your killer hand
We could both share all that I have made
For a young man it's a heck of a wage
And I feel crazy when I see your face

We'd be so free
Happy alone
Sharing a smile
So far from home
And we would laugh
Laugh till we cried
Making up songs
Making me lie
Happy alone

Change

I just watched Obama's speech. I just watched a piece of history. We now have a new president. A president like none other. He promises change. I just hope that he is able to bring change. And that the change is good. I hope that our country will come together and prosper. It will be interesting to see what happens in the near future.

Birthday Celebration

Saturday was my birthday. I turned the big 26. For my birthday celebration Kristin, Amber, Stacey, Patty, and I went out to Pete's Dueling Piano Bar. I had heard it was a lot of fun, but I'd never been. We got there a little after 8 and stayed till midnight. I had so much fun! They played all kinds of songs: country, rap, disco, rock. We spent the entire night singing and drinking.

Today I went to brunch at Mattitos with Mom and Wayne. I ate so much, but it was sooo good. After brunch, Mom and I went to the Container Store where I bought a shoe rack. Now all of my shoes have a home. Then we went to Target and I bought a new door mat and some decorations.

I had a fun birthday weekend. I got to see all my friends and the best part - no drama! I can't remember the last time that happened. So thanks to everyone who came out and made my birthday special!

Here are some of the gifts I got:
