Must Haves

I wanted to share some of my favorite beauty products.
I was at Target a while back and saw this bright pink bottle in the shaving cream isle. I'm a sucker for pretty packaging, so I bought it. It turned out to be the best shaving cream ever! It goes on more like a cream, and it doesn't lather. My legs have never been so smooth. And it smells good too :)

Since I was a teenager I've had these little annoying bumps on my arms. I saw this body scrub at the store and decided to give it a try. Not only does it help the bumps go away, it also makes my skin super soft.

I'm a big fan of Lush and love all their products, but this toner is my favorite. Sometimes my skin is dry and this toner helps moisturize my face. I also feels so refreshed after using it.

And finally, this translucent powder is a must have for every day. It can go with any skin tone and a little goes a long way. Not only does it cover up the shine, but it also makes your face feel smooth. And if I go a day without washing my hair, I use this to soak up the oil instead of baby powder.

And there you have it - my favorite products. Now I'm on the hunt for the perfect moisturizer.

Flavor of the month

I watched The Boondock Saints: All Saints Day over the weekend and fell in love with Norman Reedus all over again. I remember I rented The Boondock Saints back in high school, and I think I watched it 20 times before I had to return it. It's one of my favorite movies. Plus with hotties like Norman and Sean Patrick Flanery speaking with Irish accents....oh man! So lets drool over Norman:

Nothing exciting

I haven't been up to much other than working lately, but here is a quick run down on the past few weeks.
-Made french toast out of croissants.
-Found the best gelato ever!
-Joined Tumblr
-Spent way too much time in front of the TV
-Made cupcakes

See, not much going on. I have a few baking orders for this weekend. I've enjoyed my little break, but now it's time to bake! Today I spent all day organizing my computer and playing with this awesome app. I was so inspired by the pictures that I decided to make a blog of all my Polaroids. Here are some of my favorites.

Lazy days

Do you ever have those days where it's easier to just lay in bed and watch TV rather than be productive? That's the kind of day I'm having. Tomorrow is my day off, and it's going to be full of running errands, cupcake decorating, and catching up on my blogging and homework. But for right now I'm laying in bed catching up on So You Think You Can Dance. Watching the show makes me wish I had stayed in dance as a little kid. Now I'm off to go curl up under the covers.

Good News

So I've had a little secret the past couple of months. I've been thinking about what I want to do with my life lately, and I made the decision to become a teacher! I signed up to take an alternative program online. I want to teach 4th-6th grade, so I have to get certified to teach 4-8th grade.

I had to take a content test that included the subjects I will teach and scenarios. I was pretty nervous because I couldn't find any study guides for the test. The only thing I had access to were practice tests (which were super hard).

I took the test on June 30th. I was pretty sure I was going to fail, but I went anyway. The test wasn't nearly as hard as the practice test, but it was still intimidating. I left the test feeling pretty good. I didn't think I aced it, but I didn't feel like I totally bombed it either.

I had to wait a couple of days to gets my scores. I think I checked that website about 20 times a day to see if they had posted my scores! Finally they posted them, and I passed!! Can you believe it?! I felt like this huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

So now the next step is to find a job. I'm pretty nervous about that as well since I don't have any kind of teaching experience. So lets keep our fingers crossed that I can find something!

Holiday Weekend

This weekend was an eventful one. Friday night I went out with Amber to a variety show that her friends were doing. It was nice to actually get out of the house on a Friday night. I was out until around 3am, so I was pretty tired the next day.
Saturday Mom and I ran errands. We ate lunch at Genghis Grill, but I didn't really like what I had. I'd never been there before, so I was just throwing all kinds of stuff in my bowl! I will have to try it again. While we were out I decided to start buying fabric for a quilt I want to make. I found some really cute fabrics and probably went overboard :)

That night we went to see Eclipse. We went to the 10:30pm show and I expected it to be packed. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't. It was was such a good movie. I'd have to say that New Moon is my favorite book, but Eclipse is a close second. And I fell in love with Jacob all over again!

Sunday I went over to my uncle's for a cook out. All the family was there plus Amber and my uncle's neighbors. We had a lot of fun and pretty much spent the whole day in the pool. I wore a hat so my head and face wouldn't get burned and put on lots of sunscreen, but that wasn't enough. The sun left it's mark on my arms and knees of all places! It still hurts pretty bad, but hopefully it will get better soon. And maybe it will even turn into a tan (fingers crossed).

Here comes the ball right at my face!

While everyone enjoyed a 3 day weekend, I had to work. I knew we would get to leave early today, but I didn't know what time. The last holiday we had, the air was turned off in the building I was at work for only 45 minutes. This time the air was on, and I had to stay till 1. It sucks being at work and knowing that everyone is at home relaxing. I picked up Chipotle on the way home and spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning my room. It's amazing what a little (or a lot in this case) can do.

I've been working on a blanket ever since I learned to crochet, and I finally finished it a week or so ago. It's not perfect, but I think it's pretty good. I plan on giving to my little niece.

After I finished that blanket I started on a baby blanket for my other niece. I'm about half way done with it.

A couple of weeks ago I entered a giveaway on this blog and I won! I never win, so I was so excited!! Here are my goodies.

My favorites are the feather journal and the too cute coin purse!

And lastly I made some cute 4th of July cupcakes. I got the idea for the pies from What's New Cupcake. The "filling" is M&M's.
