Project 365 - Week 11

Call of Duty cake

I actually forgot to take a picture this day, so I'm using a picture from the day before. It's one of my favorite pictures of Roxie.

Riley was ready for bed even though I was still up.

The clouds were so pretty. This is on my way to work.

I love this picture.

I made chocolate bourbon cupcakes with Baileys icing for St. Patrick's day. This is the yummy chocolate bourbon sauce.

Riley loves to ride in the car. This has to be one of my favorite pictures of her.

I wanted to start off saying thanks to Annie from Wattlebird for my new blog design. She did an awesome job and is so easy to work with.
The old saying "when it rains, it pours" has definitely been true lately. My cake business has been pretty slow since the holidays and now all of a sudden it's booming!
This weekend I made a Mickey Mouse cake and smash cake for a little boy's 2nd birthday. I had a lot of fun making this cake.
I also made a baby shower cake.

This week is another busy week. I have to make a going away cake for a girl at work, baptism cupcakes, and a ladybug birthday cake.

Last Thursday Amber and I went to the Descender cd release concert. The lead singer, Casey Hess, is someone I've known since I was 17. My friends and I followed his band Doosu around until they broke up almost 10 years ago. He recently started a new band, Descender. Luckily the show was on Thursday, so I got to go. Working Friday and Saturday nights makes it difficult to go out. I've wanted to work on my concert photography, so I decided to take my camera. All of these photos were shot with a 50mm lens. I'm so happy with how the pictures turned out. I was able to not use the flash and still get good pictures. I was also able to capture the colors of the lights.

Happy Birthday Mom

Today is my Mom's birthday, and I want to wish her Happy Birthday. My Mom is my best friend and she is beautiful inside and out. She puts up with me (and Riley), takes care of me when I'm sick, bakes cakes for me while I'm at work, listens to me talk for hours, and somehow convinces me to watch reality TV with her. I love you Mom! And I hope you have a great day :)

My day off

Today was a much needed day off. I'm slowly working on my to do list, but it seems like every time I cross one thing off the list, I add two more! After sleeping in, I finally caught up on all the blog posts I missed over the weekend. I also started planning all the cakes I'm baking this month. I have at least 1 cake a weekend. Last month I hardly baked and this month is going to be crazy.
I took a break from my list to go to Jake's Burgers with Mom. They have the best burgers. And we also treated ourselves to fried pickles. So yummy!

After dinner we passed by a Blockbuster that was closing and I scored 6 movies for $10. Now I just need to find time to watch them :)

Dallas Arboretum

Last Monday I took a trip to the Dallas Arboretum. I was excited to go because I'd never been before. It was beautiful, but I did expect more flowers. I took a ton of photos, but these are my favorites.

I made this adorable cake for my friend's 30th birthday.
My new phone cover. I love it!
Sunset on my way home.
Cupcake for lunch
This is my favorite photo. Look at those cheeks!

Roxie doesn't like the camera. She's a shy puppy.

I love the pattern on my new wallet.
