The show must go on

Being sick is no fun. And lately, I feel like I've been sick constantly. I got sick with really bad allergies on Friday. Then I felt like I was coming down with the flu on Sunday. Monday I felt better, but not good. Then Wednesday I had to leave work early because I felt so bad.

I ended up spending over $200 going to the doctor and getting medicine. Well, my mom did :( My allergies had caused an infection. I was waking up in the middle of the night sweating, my throat felt raw, my chest hurt, and I developed a little cough. But I'm feeling much better now. It feels so good to be able to breathe normally.

On top of being sick, I was also pretty stressed on Friday. I dropped Riley off at the vet to get fixed. I had the doctor to take a look at her teeth because some of her teeth were orange looking. It looked like she had got into a bag of Cheetos. The vet suggested that I get her teeth cleaned, so I signed her up for that too. I was already worried about her since she is my little baby. And when I came to pick her up, the bill was a lot higher than I was expecting. They also told me that they had pulled 4 of her teeth during the cleaning. I was shocked to hear that, but I didn't question it much. Then they brought her out to me and she looked so sad. Her whiskers were all wet and matted. I had to fight back the tears. When we got home, she was shaking and she just looked like she felt so bad.

I started looking over all the charges on the bill and became upset. Apparently she was in heat, which is puzzling since she was in heat almost 2 months ago. And of course there was an extra charge for that. Also, I became more and more upset that they pulled 4 of her teeth without calling me. I was worried they might be her front teeth since her tongue was hanging out. I didn't really want to stick my fingers in her mouth and poke around. Mom called the vet the next day to find out what happened. He apologized for not calling and said that she had a double set of canine teeth and the baby teeth hadn't fallen out. There would have been problems down the road if they hadn't been removed. Luckily, the next day Riley felt much better.

We also had a garage sale on Friday. I made about $60, which means I can get my hair done! Unfortunately, we had stuff left over that we had to put away. Maybe we will have another garage sale in the spring.

Saturday night I went to the Descender/ Dove Hunter show in Ft. Worth. I've been listening to Dove Hunter non-stop lately. I always like going to see them because Chad is one of my favorite people. This was Descender's first show. So I went out to support Casey as well. If you know anything about me, you know that I was a HUGE fan of the band Doosu. They broke up some time back, but I've still followed their new bands. Chad was the bassist and Casey was the singer in Doosu. So getting to see half of Doosu in one night is always fun. I'm really excited for Casey's new band and I hope everything works out great. Here are a couple of pictures from the show last night.

Today I layed in bed for as long as I could (which was not long enough). Then Mom picked me up to go to a Scentsy party. I hadn't planned on buying much, but everything smells so good! Now I can't wait to get my stuff. Afterwards we went to dinner at Chilis. I just wanted to get back in bed when I got home, but it was only 6 o'clock! So I did a little reading and blogging, and now I'm ready for bed. I have a busy week ahead of me. I have to get ready for Kristin's baby shower, so getting some extra sleep might be a good idea :)

Pumpkins!

Yesterday was pumpkin patch day! Kristin, Elora, Stacey, Audrey, Riley and I all piled in the car and headed to Flowermound. It hadn't rained for 2 days, but yet the ground was covered in mud. I spent most of the time carrying Riley around. Luckily it wasn't muddy where the pumpkins were. We didn't spend as much time there as we did last year. Mostly because it was cold and windy. But we did get some cute pictures before we left.

When I got home I layed down on the couch to rest. I dozed off and when I woke up, I had the chills. I got up and turned the heater on and crawled into bed. My chills turned into shakes and my face felt like it was on fire. I started to freak out because it felt like I was coming down with the flu. I took some advil and went to bed. I ended up waking up at 4am covered in sweat. I felt better when I woke up this morning, but I still didn't feel good. I called into work and went back to bed. I feel so much better now. And I'm so thankful I don't have the flu.

This is going to be a busy week for me. I have to get everything ready for the garage sale we are having Friday. I'm also taking Riley to get fixed on Friday :( On top of that, I have 2 baking orders to do. So now I'm off to bed to get some rest!

Productivity

Let me tell you, packing is NOT fun. I've been trying to do a little packing everyday, and now my apartment is a disaster. I have a feeling it's only going to get worse :(

Well, Wednesday I went to the Kings of Leon concert. We had floor tickets, which was pretty exciting. We ended up about 20 feet from the stage. We were actually closer than when we saw them last year. The White Lies opened for them. They were really good...and cute. KOL opened with "Closer" and played almost every song off the new album. They didn't play as much old stuff as I'd hoped, but it was still a good concert. My ears are still ringing!

I took off Thursday and spent most of the day running errands. I went to Hobby Lobby just to look around and ended up spending way too money. When did Hobby Lobby get so cool?! I bought a really pretty black mirror, some black shelves, and of course, some scrapbooking stuff. I also stopped by the mall to return some clothes that had sitting in my car forever. Then I went over to Borders to pick up the next book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. I ended up finding some really cute books for my niece while I was there. After the book store, I headed over to Best Buy to pick up my shiny new Ipod! My current ipod is dying a slow death, so I decided to get a new one. Now I just have to find the time to upload all my cds :(

The rest of the evening I spent packing. I went through some old boxes in storage and found some of Daniel's old art work and even his demo tape from high school. I also found a box of cassette tapes (remember those?!). There was some old Doosu recordings and radio appearances on there.

This morning I woke up and cringed when I saw the mess in my living room. I got it pretty cleaned up, but it's still a mess. I was pretty productive today. Here is what I got accomplished:

-change address on credit cards
-change address on W-2 forms
-change address for Riley's microchip
-make Riley's dr. app
-set up a payment plan for my student loans
-call dr. about getting a refill on allergy meds

After all that, I need a nap. I've also been sick with allergies today, so that usually drains all my energy. I still need to clean the kitchen and do laundry. Boo!

Mr Roboto

It's already October, can you believe it?! This month is packed full of fun things. Lets just hope I can fit sleep somewhere in there :)

Last weekend we celebrated Amber's 27th birthday. We went roller skating dressed in 80s gear. I sat this one out and kept Kristin company. I didn't want her to be alone. And I have to admit, I was intimidated by all the pre-teens. I mean, they were texting and skating! I can barely skate. I used my new Holga camera, but I have to wait to get the film developed to see the pictures. But here are a couple to hold you over:

Holly's super cute robot cake

the cake I made for Ambs

After skating, we went to sing karaoke. Cheyenne sang Magic Man and it was the best thing ever. Kristin and I didn't stay too late since I had to work.

Friday Mom and I went to Canton. I hadn't been since I was little. That place is huge! Unfortunately I got sick while we were out there. It got really bad, so we had to leave. But not before I got a baby gift for Chelsey and Kristin. I also bought some really pretty Christmas ornaments and this really yummy lemon dip. I ended up getting so sick, that I asked Mom to take Riley home with her. I took a sleeping pill and got in bed around 9. Luckily I felt a lot better the next day.

Saturday I worked (bleh). And today I baked cupcakes. I wanted to practice making Halloween cupcakes. Some were cute and some...not so much. My favorite was the eyeball cupcake. I will have to post some pictures later.
