Stress & Macarons

The past 2 days have been very stressful. I'm having trouble at work, which I can do nothing about. Today wasn't as bad as yesterday. But I'm still pretty stressed out. After work today, I met Mom and Aunt Lana at Posados for a margarita. We sat on the patio and enjoyed today's perfect weather. Of course until the bugs started feasting on my milky white flesh. But it was just what I needed (the margarita, not the bugs).

Today I was looking at cupcakes online and I came across Macarons. I've only seen pictures of them and have never tasted them. They look like they would be delicious and possibly difficult to make. But one day I will attempt them. Until then, here are some pictures of them!

Kitties!

I know I said I have dog fever. But I also have kitty fever. Just look at these kitties. How can you resist?!

Cupcakes!

I've been looking around at cupcakes and here are some of my favorites.
These cupcakes and cakes are so beautiful. Just look at the colors. And the designs are so detailed.

These are just so beautiful. So girly.

And these are by far my favorite. These pictures make me want to be a better baker. One day I will make cupcakes that look like these.

How much is that doggy in the window?

I've had extreme dog fever lately. I've been wanting a dog, but I hadn't put much thought into what kind of dog I wanted. Especially since it will be a while before I can get one. But then I saw a commercial that had the cutest dog in it. That lead me to searching for dog breeds. Which lead me to finding the dog in the commercial. This is a French Bulldog.
I know it may come as a shock. You probably picture me with a cute fluffy dog that I can dress up. Of course I would like that too. But this dog is so freaking cute! Just look at it. Wouldn't you love to have this little fella follow you around?!
I haven't made up my mind on a dog yet, so this is not for sure the dog I want. But it is defiantly on the list. This breed of dogs is very expensive and apparently they fart all the time. Well, at least we have one thing in common!

It's a sad day.

The world's most beautiful man has passed away. Who is that man you ask?

Mr. Paul Newman

"With his strong, classically handsome face and piercing blue eyes, Newman was a heartthrob just as likely to play against his looks, becoming a favorite with critics for his convincing portrayals of rebels, tough guys and losers. "I was always a character actor," he once said. "I just looked like Little Red Riding Hood."

Newman had a soft spot for underdogs in real life, giving tens of millions to charities through his food company and setting up camps for severely ill children. Passionately opposed to the Vietnam War, and in favor of civil rights, he was so famously liberal that he ended up on President Nixon's "enemies list," one of the actor's proudest achievements, he liked to say.

He sometimes teamed with his wife and fellow Oscar winner, Joanne Woodward, with whom he had one of Hollywood's rare long-term marriages. "I have steak at home, why go out for hamburger?" Newman told Playboy magazine when asked if he was tempted to stray. "

So today is a sad day. He was a great man all round.

Fire it up!

Well, well, well. What have I been up to?
Last Saturday Mom and I went to the Plano Balloon Festival. I had never even heard about it before, but apparently it's a pretty big thing. There were a ton of people there. We started the day off by shopping at North Park. Bath & Body was having a sell, so of course we had to check it out. Since we were at North Park, they didn't have that big of a selection. But I did manage to spend money. I bought some room sprays, a halloween candle holder, cherry blossom hand cream (which I love!), and some new warming body wash. While we were at the mall, we stopped by Delia's. I wasn't expecting to find anything there, but I actually found quite a few things. I found a cardigan, dress, and a shirt.
After shopping, we headed over to Mockingbird Station. We decided to ride the Dart rail to Plano instead of driving. An all day pass only costs $3! It was crowded when we got on, but the ride was pretty short. We got there, found a place, and set up our chairs. We watched the balloons take off, then they lit them up after night fall. At the end of the night there were fireworks. I got sick with allergies when we were there, so I was ready to go home before it even ended. Too bad we had to wait in the bus line for an hour.
The next day was Gay Pride day. Since I work on Cedar Springs, that is a pretty big day for me. It got so busy that Kristin had to help me out. At one point, we had about 40 people in our section. Kristin did a really good job and busted her ass. Luckily our crazy day ended at 3. After work we went to Posados to eat, and then I went home to pass out.
This week I haven't done much. I've pretty much just stayed at home and watched TV. I did manage to decorate the pumpkins that I bought last week. I covered them in glue and then put green and orange glitter on them. They turned out really good, but they were a pain in the ass to decorate. I will post pictures of them later. I want to get some big pumpkins, but I think I will wait. Me and Kristin are going to take Elora to a pumpkin patch. I've never been to one before, but I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to take some pictures of Elora with my new camera.
Oh! Last week I had a baking disaster. I was going to make a cream and caramel cake, but instead I ended up making a hug, hard pancake. Oh well, I will try again. :)
