Vegas - Day 2

On day 2 we got up and had breakfast at our hotel. We shared a breakfast burrito and croissant french toast dipped in creme brulee batter. It was so yummy!

After breakfast we hit the strip again. We probably had the most fun at the Coke store.

Our imitation of the coke bottle :)

Then we went to the M&M store.

After walking around we decided to go check out the pool at the hotel. It was so hot outside and there were lots of people at the pool. But the pool was more like an ice bucket. It was so cold that it literally took my breath away! So we didn't stay long. But here is the view from the pool. Pretty cool, huh?!

After freezing our butts off we got ready for the bachelorrette party. Then we met Stacey and Kyle for some Italian food at their hotel. We had a male dancer come to the room for Kristin, and what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas :)

Vegas - Day 1

I have a ton of photos from Vegas, so I'm going to split it up some. This is all from our first day.
We only got about 3 hours of sleep the night before we left (which we paid for later). We had to get to the airport around 6am. This was Amber's first flight so she was pretty nervous.

We got to Vegas around 8am and headed to our hotel. We stayed at Planet Hollywood, which had a mall connected to it. After we checked in and left our bags we went to the mall in search of food. The great thing about Vegas is that everywhere is open for breakfast. We ate at this cute mexican food place.

After eating breakfast we met up with a friend of Amber's who happened to be there the same time as us. We walked up and down the strip until we were exhausted. When we got back to the hotel I realized that I had a sunburn. And that stupid sunburn stuck out in every picture I took for the rest of the trip!!

When we got back to the hotel we took a little nap before we had to start getting ready. Here is our hotel room. We were on the 37th floor!

For some reason we only took this one picture that night. We went to dinner at my favorite place at the Paris Hotel. We had the yummy pesto chicken penne pasta. Then we went to The Mirage to see Love. Amber and I are huge Beatles fans, so it was pretty awesome. I definitely recommend seeing if you get the chance.

After the show we came home and passed out. I think we were up for close to 24 hours!

Weekend Warrior

This weekend has been good to me. I made it through the work week in a good mood. Surprised? Me too! Saturday Amber came over and we drove out to the cake store. I had to buy some supplies and a sheet cake pan. I've had a lot of requests recently for sheet cakes and I've had to turn down the orders since I only have round pans. I also bought some super cute cupcake liners that I need to take pictures of.
Then we went to lunch at Gloria's. I love that place. We got a tamale as an appetizer. If you haven't had their tamales, you need to try one. I don't even really like tamales, but this one is heaven. I also ordered the chicken breast covered in sour cream sauce, peppers, mushrooms, and onions. It was soooo good!!

After lunch we went to go get manis and pedis at Hollywood Nails. I got a super cute teal color on my toe nails. Amber got fake nails and they looked really creepy until they cut them down :)

Amber still needed a dress for the wedding so we went to Northpark. She found a super cute dress and even got it on sale. I bought some new sandals and a bunch of cute necklaces from Forever 21. When I got home I layed on the couch and watched QVC all night with Mom. That was dangerous since I ended up ordering a pair of sandals, some black tights, and a lunch box. Random...I know. Needless to say, I spent too much money Saturday.

Today was my lazy day. I slept in, ate lunch, and then took a nap. I couldn't get motivated to do anything! I finally got in the shower and started cleaning my room. I also started picking out my outfits for Vegas. I leave in only 3 days! I can't believe it's already here.

Here is a picture of the cupcakes I made earlier in the week. Yummy lemon raspberry!

Rant

After years of working with the public (retail, restaurant, and call center) I understand that the public is annoying at times. I hated it when people would just ignore me when I tried to be friendly to them while I was ringing them up or waiting on them. A lot of people would act like I didn't exist. Like the products just magically appeared in a bag. Others would be too busy talking on their phones to even acknowledge me.

So I make it a point to always say "hi", "please", "thank you", and "have a nice day" to anyone who is ringing me up at the grocery store or waiting on me at a restaurant. I know how it feels to be treated like crap, and I don't ever want to do that to someone else.

So it really makes me angry when people who are waiting on me act like I don't exist. I went through the drive thru Friday at lunch. I asked for mustard and jalapenos only on my burger. When I got to the window the lady didn't even say "hi". She just repeated my order. It sounded right, but I had a feeling it was going to be wrong. I asked for 2 packets of ketchup when I paid and she didn't say anything. When she thrust the bag at me I said "thank you" and she just shut the window in my face.

Of course when I got back to work I had lettuce and tomato on my burger and only 1 packet of ketchup. I was pissed! I know that I should have checked my bag before I drove off, but I didn't want to hold up the line. And who knows how she would have treated me if I told her my order was wrong.
