Ickie Poo

Today I stayed home sick. I've been feeling bad all week with a sore throat, stuffy nose, and some ear pain. I've also been so freakin tired. Twice this week I came home and went straight to bed after work. When I woke up this morning, my throat was killing me. But surprisingly, for the first time all week, I wasn't tired.

I went to the doctor and they tested me for the flu and strep. Good thing is that I have neither. Bad thing is they didn't really know what I have. The doctor told me that it wouldn't do any good to take antibiotics, so I left an hour later $20 poorer, with no meds, at last tired again, and not feeling any better. I spent the rest of the afternoon sleeping.

At least tomorrow is Friday. That gives me hope that I can make it through the day.

Cookies, Cosmos, & Sleep

Friday was Kristin's birthday. She threw a birthday/house warming party at her new place. I wanted to make something special for her, so I decided to make her martini shaped cookies. I had it all planned out and I was going to make them the week leading up to her party. But when I tried to make them on Tuesday night, I almost had a nervous breakdown. Luckily Amber came over Wed. night and helped me. I think they turned out super cute. I used rolled buttercream to decorate them, which was a first. The only problem I had was when I transported them to Kristin's, some of the icing got messed up.

The party was a lot of fun. I got to see Stacey and Kyle and hang out with Amber. I meant to take more pictures, but I only ended up with a few pics.

Saturday I spent all day in bed, trying to catch up on major sleep loss. Sunday I worked and did some more sleeping. I've just been so tired lately. Bleh. Other than that, I haven't been up to much. I did manage to buy a new comforter from Anthropologie. Unfortunately Chloe decided to throw up on it the first week I had it.

And now I will end with picture time with Chloe....

Is it Friday yet?

So, last night was The Killers concert. It was so much fun. They put on the best show. Their stage was full of palm trees and a wall of lights. They even included bubbles and confetti. And of course Brandon Flowers was absolutely fabulous!

Work has been getting ridiculous lately. Today I went to lunch with 4 other assistants and we were late getting back. Of course I got in trouble. But going out to lunch with the other assistants was so nice. We went to Jakes Hamburgers and sat outside. The food was so good! Too bad that's probably the last time we will get to go to lunch together.

I've decided to start looking for a new job. I've been looking at post production houses. I enjoyed my audio and video production classes in school, and it would be something different. But, unfortunately, I don't have any real experience. But I will still try. So if you know anyone who is hiring, let me know!!

Back to normal

This weekend was a lot better than this past week. I finally feel like my bad luck has run out!

Friday I worked both jobs. Bleh! I also let me manager at The Bronx know that I will only be working on Sundays now. It just hasn't been worth my time coming in on Fridays. So I'm pretty excited about that. Since there were no tables in my section, I left early and ran some errands. I went to Lowes to buy a couple of pots, a mini shovel, and gardening gloves. I ended up buying a lot more than that. Then I stopped by the store to buy some groceries. When I got home, I made a California Pizza Kitchen pizza, had a few beers, listened to Band of Horses, and read my magazines. It was glorious. BTW...I'm a huge fan of MGD 64 now.

Saturday Mom and I went to eat at the Cotton Patch. We've only been there a couple of times, but I really enjoy the food there. After eating, we stopped by the Rockwall and the Mesquite Animal Shelters and the SPCA.

At the Mesquite shelter, we saw the most adorable terrier. She was small with tan and white markings. She was 2 years, very playful, and just a very sweet girl. Mom asked the front desk if they could hold her and they told us that they couldn't because she was going to be put to sleep Tuesday morning of she wasn't adopted. I almost started crying. Just the thought of that sweet little dog being put to sleep just cause no one adopted her. I couldn't take it. I decided that either Mom or I would go get her on Monday if she was still there. If Mom didn't want to keep her, we would find her a home or a rescue group to give her to.

Later that day, Mom helped me replant my cactus and succulents. I had the them all in one large pot, but over time they have grown and were taking over each other. I went from having one pot to having 7. I hope I have room for all of them outside!
